Venture into the Beech Forest in Provincetown to learn about teeth, veins, and hair — not parts of the body, but leaf characteristics that help distinguish tree species during the growing season. During this guided field class, naturalist Tom Walker will lead you through forested trails and teach you how to identify several of our native and naturalized trees. Tom may also discuss the shrubs, ferns, forbs (wildflowers), and anything else that sparks interest alongside the trail.
