Capturing Light in Pastel Two-Day Workshop: Saturday, September 12th & Sunday, September.13th, 10:00AM – 3:00PM Vibrant colors and multiple application methods make pastel a favorite medium for landscape artists portraying sunlight and shadow whether on location or in the studio. This workshop will stress developing painterly surfaces using a range of pastel brands on different papers. Demos will include the problem solving and correction methods that make this medium so flexible, as well as color strategies that avoid “chalky” lights and flat shadows. Mary will help students select and manipulate photo references for stronger compositions.
