Drawing for Beginners – Learning to Use Line and Value Two-Day Workshop: Saturday August 29th & Sunday, August 30th, 10:00AM-3:00PM This class is for the beginner or artist who wants to learn about the basics of drawing that underpin all artwork. It will include learning essential drawing skills – line, value, perspective etc. and will transition participants from being able to create simple line drawings to producing more complex and realistic artwork. The class will cover the use of graphite pencils, ink pen and charcoal as well as other mediums of interest. Cost: $185 (Members) / $215 (Non-Members) Supplies: Please bring a 9×12 or larger pad of drawing paper (there will also be a $5 materials fee paid to the instructor at the beginning of class) Size: Minimum 5 students, maximum of 10 Level: Beginner course – no experience necessary! Join now > Bio: Naomi Clark-Turner PhD is British by birth, with a career in the pharmaceutical industry and a second-life as an artist. She moved to the US in the early 2000s and was mentored by Karl Kuerner III in Chadds Ford, PA, where she developed her skill as a watercolorist. In 2019 she moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and quickly established herself in the artistic community, studying oil and gouache with Bernard Dellario and pastel with Kate Pritchard and Barrie Barnett. During Covid she honed her drawing skills working mostly in graphite. She is currently the President of the Working Artists Forum in Easton, Maryland and an art instructor at the Academy Art Museum. She works in a variety of media, including graphite, watercolor, pastel, oil, acrylic and gouache and has won several awards for her painting.
