From Ho-hum to Fabulous! Two-Day Workshop: Saturday, August 1st & Sunday, August 2nd, 10:00AM – 3:00PM In this workshop you will take a look at a few of your paintings that have always needed “something” and try to make changes that will turn it into a winner. Bring an old oil painting (or several) that never worked and with Nancy’s help, you will learn to evaluate what isn’t working and how to change it. We will spend some time talking about ways to prepare the painting for reworking, and then we will try to rescue some of those frustrating canvases stacked in the back of our closets! Nancy will demonstrate with one of her own old, unsatisfactory paintings. We all have them, let’s let them see the light again. We’ll use alternative tools and different methods. Maybe it will work, maybe it won’t, but we’ll have fun in the process! In this workshop you’ll revisit principles of design, drawing, values and colors. Join now > Bio: Nancy Tankersley began her career as a portraitist but entered the gallery scene with figurative paintings of people at work and at leisure. Currently as she searches for the unpredictable, Tankersley moves between landscape, figures and still life. Incorporating non-traditional tools , supports and technologies for her paintings she remains faithful to her impressionistic style. Active in the current plein air movement, and a founder of Plein Air Easton, she travels worldwide participating in competitions, judging and teaching. In 2024 Tankersley was the Judge at the 20th Anniversary of Plein Air Easton and was honored with a solo exhibit at the Academy Art Museum. In 2019, she was the Featured Artist at the 49th Annual Waterfowl Exhibit and Festival in Easton, Maryland where she featured paintings of watermen at work. In 2016 and 2017 she was invited to exhibit at the prestigious Masters Exhibition at the Salmagundi Club in NYC. Recent awards include Award for Excellence at the American Impressionist Society Annual Exhibit in 2018, Best of Show at the Lighthouse Plein Air Festival 2017 and the Dickinson Award for Best Painting by a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society 2016 Annual Juried Exhibit.
