SLOW SERIES : Sashiko Workshop with JunAle

As part of Ace Hotel Kyoto’s SLOW SERIES, we are hosting a Sashiko workshop with artist JunAle. Sashiko is a traditional Japanese hand-stitching technique used to repair and reinforce fabric, passed down through generations as a way to extend the life of clothing and textiles. In this workshop, participants will bring clothing, bags, or small textile items and learn basic Sashiko techniques for mending and reinforcement. Materials made from repurposed Ace Hotel Kyoto roomwear will also be available to use. Items with holes or damage are welcome, as well as pieces you simply want to repair, strengthen, or give a new look. Participants may also join without bringing anything. A hands-on session focused on simple stitching and working with what you already have. *No items required.
