Scholastic Art and Writing Awards Reception The Ashley Gibson Barnett Museum of Art is thrilled to host the nationally-renowned 103rd annual Scholastic Art and Writing Awards for the Polk County, Florida Art Region. Presented by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the Scholastic Awards initiative invites students grades 7-12 (ages 13 and up) to submit their original works produced across all media to have a chance to have their work recognized in the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious scholarship and recognition program. The museum hosts several exhibitions per year in the George Jenkins Gallery that feature artwork by Polk County School District students. From each of these exhibitions, one piece is purchased by the Museum to be added to our Student Collection. Awards Ceremony: We invite the friends and family of the students whose artwork is presented in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards to join us for a reception. The awards ceremony will take place at Harrison School for the Arts and the reception will be held after at The AGB. This is a FREE program. No registration is required.
