Advanced Drawing for Tweens and Teens (Ages11-16)

If you’ve ever wanted to improve your drawing abilities, this class will teach you how to truly see your subject rather than simply draw what you think it looks like. Through a series of guided exercises, you’ll learn techniques that help train your eye to recognize proportion, shape, value, and light. Experiment with a variety of drawing materials, including charcoal pencils, compressed charcoal, and other black-and-white media, while building your skills through a range of subjects. You’ll draw still lifes, landscapes, self-portraits, and live models, developing the ability to capture light, shadow, depth, and form with greater accuracy.
