About this event
One of 439 upcoming events at Alliance for the Arts, and 1,320 across Fort Myers.
Take your photography beyond snapshots and discover a more intentional, creative approach to making images. In this two-session workshop, you’ll explore the 20-60-20 Concept, a framework designed to strengthen both your technical skills and your artistic vision. We’ll begin by examining the first 20%- creating solid, technically sound photographs that capture a scene. From there, you’ll move into the creative 60%, where you’ll experiment with composition, lighting, perspective, timing, and storytelling to create more compelling and meaningful images. Finally, you’ll challenge yourself in the last 20% by taking creative risks, breaking conventional rules, and exploring new ideas that push your photography beyond your comfort zone. During the first session, you’ll learn the 20-60-20 philosophy, study inspiring examples, and discuss techniques for expanding your creative eye. Between sessions, you’ll put these concepts into practice through a photography assignment. In the second session, you’ll share your work with the class, receive constructive feedback, and discuss how the 20-60-20 approach influenced your creative process. Perfect for photographers who understand the basics and are ready to develop a stronger artistic voice, this workshop will help you create images that are not only technically successful but also uniquely your own.
