Picture Perfect: Exploring Photo Editing Techniques

You already take great photos with your camera or cell phone, but what happens after you press the shutter? With endless tutorials, YouTube videos, and AI tools at our fingertips, learning photo editing has never been more accessible. But there’s still tremendous value in sitting down with an experienced photographer who can help you understand not just how to edit, but why certain techniques work. Led by digital lab instructor and photographer Robert Ahrens, this session explores the evolving world of digital photo editing, from traditional editing techniques to the newest AI-powered tools found in today’s software and online platforms. Learn how to improve your images, streamline your editing workflow, and make thoughtful creative choices rather than simply relying on automatic corrections. We’ll also look at what you can do before you even press the shutter to give yourself a better image to work with later. Whether you’re photographing Florida wildlife, beaches, architecture, or our spectacular sunrises and sunsets, understanding the fundamentals of exposure, composition, resolution, and file quality can make a significant difference in your final results. This class is designed for everyone from the weekend photographer looking to sharpen their skills to semi-professional photographers and local realtors who want to create more polished, compelling images for their work. Bring your questions and curiosity and leave with new tools and techniques to take your photography to the next level.
