Taylor Made Tapestry returns to Alvas Showroom celebrating the extraordinary music of two of the most prolific and influential singer-songwriters in popular music history—Carole King and James Taylor. Carole King, a member of both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, helped define the sound of a generation, penning over 400 songs recorded by more than 1,000 artists. Her landmark 1971 album Tapestry became the top-selling pop solo album of all time until 1982. James Taylor emerged in the 1970s as a master of heartfelt, introspective songwriting, earning five Grammy Awards and becoming the first artist to place Top 10 albums in six consecutive decades. Their musical bond was famously celebrated in 2007 when they reunited for a historic concert marking the 50th anniversary of the Troubadour in West Hollywood. Honoring that legendary collaboration, Stephen Bock of the acclaimed James Taylor tribute Taylor Made joins forces with Carla Buffa of Southern California’s beloved Carole King tribute Sweet Seasons for an unforgettable evening. Audiences will be treated to immaculate renditions of classics including “Fire and Rain,” “It’s Too Late,” “Carolina in My Mind,” “So Far Away,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” “Shower the People,” “Jazzman,” “You’ve Got a Friend,” and more—performed with stunning accuracy, warmth, and attention to detail.
