“From Roots to Rising Chefs” Make plans to join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating the connection between agriculture, education, and culinary excellence. Roots to Rising Chefs is a unique Farm to Table collaboration between the Shawnee Mission School District’s Broadmoor Bistro culinary program and the American Royal, designed to give students a deeper understanding of the journey from farm to table. Before stepping into the kitchen, students from the Broadmoor Bistro culinary program will visit a local farm to gain firsthand insight into the care, stewardship, and agricultural practices involved in raising the chickens featured in the evening’s menu. Through this immersive experience, they will connect directly with local producers, learn the story behind their ingredients, and develop a greater appreciation for the role agriculture plays in our food system. Guests attending this Farm to Table collaboration, will enjoy a thoughtfully prepared meal while hearing about the students’ experiences on the farm and how those lessons influenced their perspective in the kitchen. Together, the American Royal and Broadmoor Bistro are helping cultivate the next generation of culinary professionals by connecting food preparation with agricultural literacy and producer appreciation.
