Starting with Slöjd is a monthly program for early elementary students who want to start crafting! Whether it’s playing with wool, wire, paper, or more, this group will explore new tools, materials, and skills that prepare kids for a lifelong love of slöjd (handcraft). ASI designed these drop-off programs for students in grades K-2. Discover the possibilities of rya weaving! Join ASI instructor Anna Ruhland to learn the basic techniques of rya weaving. Use the skills you learn to create a woven piece of art inspired by Handwoven: Between Chaos and Order. Photo: Anna Ruhland Additional information: Check in at the ASI front desk by 12:45 pm. ASI staff will direct you for dropping off your K-2 child. Class starts at 1 pm; pick up is at 2:15 pm. Adults may stay this month. All guardians must sign a waiver. Museum admission is not included.
