Visit the Appleton on September 5 for Free First Saturday! Admission to the museum is free from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Explore the permanent collection, special exhibitions, and enjoy family-friendly artmaking activities in the Artspace. At noon in the auditorium, join Dr. Caren Neile in the auditorium for a free talk: “Florida Lore.” From the Ashley Gang to the Devil’s Millhopper and the Ghost of Bellamy Bridge, Florida folk culture is brimming with fascinating characters and situations almost too amazing to be true. But are they true? This talk is free to attend; click here to learn more. The Donut Express and Big Red Hot Dogs will be on-site throughout the day, along with LifeSouth Community Blood Centers.
