Army History Book Club – “The Airborne Mafia” by Robert F. Williams

Join historians from The Army Historical Foundation for a morning virtual book discussion broadcast live over Microsoft Teams on Wednesday December 2, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. EST. This program will feature several “on-air” personalities that include Foundation staff discussing the assigned book and you are invited to join and provide your thoughts and questions in the chat and Q&A features. Everyone is welcome whether or not they have had the opportunity to read or finish the book as the conversation will have many lessons from Army history and in the end may inspire you to read the book from the program. The Airborne Mafia: The Paratroopers Who Shaped America’s Cold War Army explores how a small group of World War II airborne officers took control of the U.S. Army after World War II.
