Discover the patterns that shape the plant world in this hands-on art program, from spirals that follow the fibonacci sequence to branching that creates infinite fractals. After a brief crash course on the math and science behind these patterns with instructor Rachel Mirus, you will move into creative, art-based activities to explore these patterns further and start creating some of your own. This is a outdoor walking program in the Arboretum landscape. Please bring a sketchbook, pen or pencil, eraser, and any other art supplies you would like to work with. Accessibility: Participants may need to navigate mulch paths, gravel, off-path terrain, and gentle to moderate slopes. Audience: This program is geared towards ages 16 and up.
