Mixed Media on Violin – Weekend Workshop – November 7th & 8th

In this 2-part class, you’ll learn to embellish a 3-dimensional wooden violin using mixed media decoupage with a variety of interesting materials, textures and found objects! First we’ll prep the wood with a liquid polymer base. Then it’s time to unleash your creative instincts. Make the design subtle and refined or wild and funky – it's totally up to you! Last but not least, we’ll add finishing touches with accessories (optional) and dry-brush techniques. You’ll then varnish your artwork to make it more durable and archival. Dates: Saturday and Sunday November 7th & 8th from 11 am to 3 pm. Cost: $125 per person includes the two-day class, the violin, and all supplies. Ages: 16 to adult. This class is open to all skill levels. Beginners are welcome, but be prepared for a fast-paced class covering a number of techniques. Supplies: All materials will be provided, but you are welcomed to bring your own embellishment accessories. Space is limited so register early! To reserve your spot, visit the Antioch Art Center at 896 Main Street or call 847.838.2274 during open-door hours on Wednesday through Sundays.
