The Character & Comic Studio: From Concept to Creator Ready to take your art to the next level and connect with a crew of fellow creatives? Welcome to the ultimate studio intensive for teen artists, character designers, and visual storytellers. Whether you are obsessed with the cinematic panels of Manga, the bold lines of classic comic books, the world-building of animation, or the strategic wit of character-driven advertising, this week is your playground. We will bridge the gap between fine art and pop culture—drawing inspiration from unlikely masters like Vincent van Gogh and Picasso to comic legends Jack Kirby, Naoki Urasawa, and Art Spiegelman. You will master brainstorming techniques, dive into character design sheets, and explore sequential storytelling. This isn’t just about solo drawing; it’s a collaborative studio. You will team up to create a collective graphic novel zine, pitch advertising campaigns, and even script and shoot a viral-style “Behind the Studio” video for social media. Come ready to sketch, collaborate, make friends, and build a spectacular artist promo piece! This workshop is for kids from 13 years of age through 17 years of age (Check events for 7-12 age group). $60 (Includes supplies, snacks, drinks). Limited to 6 kids per class.
