Celebrate Halloween in Saratoga Springs at Night of the Jack-o-Lanterns at Artisanal Brew Works on Saturday, October 24. Bring a pumpkin from home or purchase one at ABW, carve or paint your creation, then help transform our wooded Spooky Trail into a glowing gallery of jack-o-lanterns. This family-friendly Halloween event includes afternoon pumpkin decorating, an illuminated evening trail, and awards for the most creative and spooky designs in youth, teen and adult categories. Create Your Jack-o-Lantern From 2–5:30 PM, carve or paint your pumpkin at Artisanal Brew Works. Bring a pumpkin you already have, bring one you decorated at home, or purchase a pumpkin at ABW. We’ll have a limited supply of kid-friendly pumpkin carving supplies available for guests who want to create their jack-o-lantern here. Whether you carve something spooky, paint something silly or create something completely unexpected, we want to see what you come up with. Help Light Up the Spooky Trail From 5:30–6 PM, we’ll begin placing everyone’s creations along the wooded Spooky Trail. Then, from 6–7:30 PM, walk the trail as the forest transforms into a glowing gallery of jack-o-lanterns created by the community. Battery-operated lights only, please. No open flames or candles will be used on the trail. Jack-o-Lantern Judging & Awards At 7:30 PM, we’ll award prizes in two categories: Most Creative Most Spooky Awards will be presented in three age groups: Youth: up to age 10 Teen: ages 11–18 Adult: ages 19+ After the awards, participants are welcome to take their pumpkins home. Food, Drinks & Fall at Artisanal Brew Works Make an afternoon and evening of it with food from Nature’s Edge Bistro, plus Artisanal Brew Works craft beer, seasonal cocktails, wine, mocktails and other non-alcoholic drinks. Enjoy the fall atmosphere in our taproom and, weather permitting, on the Nature’s Edge Terrace before heading into the woods for the illuminated trail. Frequently Asked Questions Do I need to bring my own pumpkin? No. You can bring a pumpkin from home, bring one you already decorated, or purchase a pumpkin at Artisanal Brew Works. Can I carve or paint my pumpkin at Artisanal Brew Works? Yes. Pumpkin carving and painting will be available from 2–5:30 PM on Saturday, October 24. Will pumpkin carving supplies be available? Yes. We’ll have kid-friendly pumpkin carving supplies available for guests decorating pumpkins at Artisanal Brew Works. Can I decorate my pumpkin at home and bring it with me? Absolutely. You’re welcome to bring a carved or painted pumpkin from home and add it to the Night of the Jack-o-Lanterns display. What time does the illuminated Jack-o-Lantern trail begin? The illuminated Spooky Trail runs from 6–7:30 PM. Trail setup begins at 5:30 PM. Can I use a candle inside my jack-o-lantern? No. Battery-operated lights only are permitted on the trail. Candles and open flames are not allowed. Is Night of the Jack-o-Lanterns family-friendly? Yes. The event is designed for kids, teens, adults and families to participate together. Are there prizes? Yes. Prizes will be awarded at 7:30 PM for Most Creative and Most Spooky designs in three age groups: Youth, Teen and Adult. Can I take my pumpkin home after the event? Yes. Participants are welcome to take their pumpkins home after the awards. Will food and drinks be available? Yes.
