Indigenous Voices—Honoring Mother Earth: Mashpee Native Envirnonmental Ambassadors

Indigenous Voices series of events begins with the Mashpee Native Environmental Ambassadors (NEA) who are a group of young adults from age 15 to 23. The NEA uses traditional ecological knowledge and a “Rights of Nature” framework to advocate for tribal homelands and the protection of water quality and endangered local species. Among other activities, they have been active in river cleanups, removing invasive species, planting native pollinators, and conducting ongoing water quality testing. They have also hosted gatherings of members of numerous Native nations for climate conferences. FREE.
