Oak Grove Cemetery Tour: Lanterns & Legends

Lanterns & Legends will feature the stories of six people buried at Oak Grove. The walking tour includes true stories of adventure, war, captivity, exploration and intrigue. “We’ll talk about some famous sea captains, one who saved Falmouth from the British. Then there’s a Russian count who was murdered and someone who was a Rebel prisoner,” said Carla Henderson, an Oak Grove board member. Costumed actors will be at each gravesite to tell the story of these notable people, of whom Katherine Lee Bates is one. Performers appearing as part of Lanterns & Legends include: Camille Cain, Susan Carliss, Mary Anne Conboy, Leslie DiAngelis, Bob Falzarano, Rob Hanner, Cristina Holt, Laura Raymond, Sam Slarskey and Meg Sullivan. The College Light Opera Company provided costumes for the event. Please arrive at 3:45 PM. The 90 minute tour will take place rain or shine and requires walking on uneven ground. $5 per person.
