About this event
One of 14 upcoming events at FalmouthCulturalCouncil, and 1,538 across Cape Cod.
Ocean Eversley's solo exhibition at FCTV, "Echoes of the Coast, Stories of Place, Presence, and the Female Gaze” invites viewers into a dreamlike world where portraiture and landscape intertwine, creating a sanctuary to explore human complexity. Deeply rooted in her ten years living in Falmouth and a defining thirty-two years residing on Martha’s Vineyard—an island she has returned to every season since 1965—her paintings reflect a constant dialogue between the ocean, shifting light, and identity. As an African-American and Native American artist, Ocean Eversley creates work that is directly shaped by the rich diversity and creative brilliance of BIPOC communities. She is a Falmouth-based painter, poet, photographer, and retired clinical social worker. In 2024, she turned her full-time focus to her lifelong passion for the arts. A special second reception will be held Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 4:30–7:00 p.m. at The Gallery at FCTV . The reception will offer the public an opportunity to meet Eversley, experience the exhibition, and hear more about the personal discovery that has recently added another layer to her work.Artist Reception. The exhibition is on display through Friday, October 30, 6:00 PM (during Gallery Hours). Information: HERE.
