PERFORMER BIOS: Cuban-born with French heritage, Blue Note Records artist Harold López-Nussa is a classically trained pianist, composer, and arranger whose music blends the rhythms and traditions of his homeland with a global, contemporary vision. Growing up in a highly musical and artistic family, Harold was immersed in rhythm, melody, and improvisation from an early age, shaping the rich and expressive voice he brings to his music today. Winner of the Montreux Jazz Festival competition in 2005, López-Nussa has released 11 albums under his own name, showcasing his virtuosic technique, inventive compositions, and the seamless fusion of Afro-Cuban, classical, and modern jazz influences. His music is intricate, expressive, and inviting, taking listeners on a journey across cultures and traditions. For more than a decade, López-Nussa and his trio have toured internationally, performing at major festivals and collaborating with musicians from Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean.
