About this event

Theater

Wrecked is an exploration of endings and what comes after. Devised and performed by NYC-based theatre company Wreckio Ensemble, six actresses shapeshift into multiple women as they face the ends of marriages, careers, friendships, parenthood, civilization, and, sometimes, their sanity — each begging the question “what now?” Staying true to Wreckio’s signature style of using physicality as a springboard to create larger than life characters, Wrecked tells the non linear story of these women through the use of video projections and unique live performance. This original show is sure to make you laugh, think, and have plenty to discuss afterwards! Out of the Black Box at Arts Garage: A Theatre Residency Program is an annual program that provides on-site resources for a theatre company without a home base to create a production. The theatre company will use the black box theatre space at Arts Garage for writing, development, rehearsals, and performances. Arts Garage and the theatre company will work together to engage the community in classes, workshops, and/or open rehearsals throughout the process. In addition to the performance space, Arts Garage will provide a lighting/sound technician, production support, and marketing collaboration. Arts Garage is proud to announce Wreckio Ensemble Theater Company as its first Theatre Residency Program recipient. Wreckio Ensemble is a New York based not for profit theater company that produces original and innovative works on social issues through their developing movement technique. Wreckio integrates the body, mind, and voice in storytelling to stimulate thought, creating a symbiotic relationship between audience and ensemble.
