About this event

Arts & Culture

JOIN THE WAITLIST Students will explore art and the environment through a series of mixed-media projects. Students will create collages of animal habitats using recycled materials and mountain landscapes featuring local wildlife. Students will be encouraged to use personal expression, gain environmental awareness, and learn creative problem-solving. Students will conclude the week by creating mixed-media memory boxes or shadow boxes filled with hand-built clay creatures.  Meet the Instructor: Julia Worden Julia Worden holds a master’s degree in art education and teaches visual art in Western North Carolina. She is passionate about working with learners of all ages and is dedicated to fostering confidence, critical thinking, and the development of individual artistic voices. Having spent seven years living abroad, Julia engaged extensively with galleries, artistic events, and diverse art communities across Europe, experiences she now weaves into her teaching to deepen students’ understanding and connection to art. Outside the studio and classroom, she enjoys reading, baking, and spending time with her cats, Cas and Nyx.
