Art Classes Family Friendly Arts & Culture

JOIN THE WAITLIST  In this camp, participants will explore different paint mediums and techniques.  We will work with watercolor, acrylics and tempera (all washable).  We will learn about brush techniques, finger painting, wax resist and printing to name just a few.  The color wheel, warm and cool colors plus complementary colors will be discussed and an avenue to explore. Your child will get lost in the engaging and colorful world of paint!  Meet the Instructor: Maggie Imhoff Maggie Imhoff is an educator of twenty-three years, including, most recently, the Art teacher at Ira B Jones elementary school in Asheville, NC. She has taught at several summer camps, created outdoor art experiences for kids as well as directed at a children’s circus. She loves to celebrate art in her everyday life. She knits, paints, sings, and dances.  This quote from Phylicia Rashad sums it up: “Before a child speaks, it sings.  Before they write, they paint. As soon as they stand, they dance. Art is the basis of human expression.” As an art educator, it brings her joy to bring art to children’s lives.
