About this event
One of 186 upcoming events at Asheville Art Museum.
Step into the Museum’s galleries before the doors open for a quiet and contemplative morning of meditation, mindful walking, and reflection. This guided experience invites participants to slow down, settle the nervous system, and explore the Museum as a place of sanctuary, spaciousness, and renewal. The session will begin with a brief seated meditation, followed by a walking meditation through selected exhibits. Along the way, participants will pause with gentle mindfulness prompts designed to support personal reflection, embodied awareness, and a deeper connection with the artwork. Rather than offering art historical interpretation, the experience encourages each participant to notice what arises within them through presence, stillness, and mindful seeing. The group will honor noble silence throughout much of the session with occasional opportunities for brief reflection and sharing. No previous meditation experience is needed. Join Joshua on August 22, October 3, November 7, and December 5. Joshua Canter is a mindfulness meditation teacher and the founder of True Nature Travels and Education, an Asheville-based organization that has offered transformative retreats and educational experiences around the world for more than 20 years. He holds a master’s degree in Contemplative Psychology and is passionate about making mindfulness accessible, grounded, and relevant to everyday life. Purchase Tickets
