This May, ASU Art Museum presents “Carmen Lomas Garza: Picturing the Familiar,” the artist’s first major retrospective, bringing together a lifetime of work centered around community resilience and everyday life. Join us for a vibrant opening-night celebration featuring local food and live music. The evening features a one-night-only tasting by Chef Fernando Hernandez of Testal, a tortilla station, and a special musical performance by La Santa Cecilia. A custom scent activation by Cayla Gray Perfume Co invites guests to experience memory through fragrance, alongside a signature cocktail, and a book signing with Carmen Lomas Garza. Come celebrate the stories, traditions, and everyday moments that shape this work—and be part of a night that brings them vividly to life.
