About this event
One of 35 upcoming events at ASU Kerr, and 2,039 across Phoenix.
@ Kalos blends Scottish, Irish, Scandinavian and North American folk traditions with an inventive approach. Drawing inspiration from maritime culture, the trio performs music rooted in stories of shorelines, seafarers and life by the sea, alongside lively dance tunes and melodies from the Celtic tradition. Known for never playing a song the same way twice, Kalos combines traditional influences with spontaneous musical conversation, making each performance unique. Ryan McKasson (violin, viola, voice), Eric McDonald (guitar, mandolin, voice) and Jeremiah McLane (accordion, piano, voice) met through highland games, contra dances and fiddle camps across North America. The three musicians began recording together in 2016 and have toured as Kalos since 2019. Kalos has performed at festivals, concert halls and folk music venues across the United States, including the Lotus Festival, New Bedford Folk Festival, Old Town School of Folk Music and Seattle Folklore Society. The group has also presented workshops and master classes at institutions and organizations including Tufts University, the Celtic Arts Foundation and the Valley of the Moon Scottish Fiddle School. general admission (includes all fees) Add to calendar Google Calendar iCalendar Outlook 365 Outlook Live
