Firefly Habitat Workshop

Fourteen percent of firefly species are threatened with extinction. Habitat loss, light pollution and pesticide exposure are among the leading causes of their decline. As spring approaches, now is the perfect time to consider how small changes in your backyard can help protect these glowing insects. In this class, explore the firefly life cycle, the habitats they need to thrive, why and how they light up, and what you can do to create a firefly-friendly environment at home.
