Step inside the creative process with world-renowned choreographer Mthuthuzeli November as he shares movement ideas and themes he is exploring with BalletX dancers for his upcoming Summer Series 2027 world premiere. Drawing from his South African roots and ballet influences, Mthuthuzeli will invite participants to experience his choreographic approach firsthand while moving, experimenting, and discovering new ways of working. This class is open to all movers. No experience necessary, and all are welcome! Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. This event is for ages 14+. About Instructor Mthuthuzeli November After graduating with Distinction from the Cape Academy of Performing Arts in 2014, two-time South African Ballet Competition gold medalist Mthuthuzeli November joined Ballet Black in 2015 as a dancer and choreographer. Founder of M22 Movement Lab, his acclaimed works include Ingoma, which won the 2020 Olivier Award for Best New Dance Production. Since 2022, November has been a full-time choreographer and has created works for the Northern Ballet, the Glastonbury Festival, Ballett Zürich, The Royal Ballet and the Ballet de l’Opéra national de Paris, among others. He has also been an Associate Artist with the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam and continues to create works world wide.
