About this event
One of 68 upcoming events at BalletX, and 3,420 across Philadelphia.
Join us after the Summer Series 2027 performance on Thursday, July 8 for a special post-show Curtain Chat with BalletX dancers and guest artists, moderated by Rehearsal Director & Community Liaison Keelan Whitmore! About Summer Series 2027 Mthuthuzeli November, Olivier Award-winning artist and Resident Choreographer of Charlotte Ballet, makes his BalletX debut with a captivating world premiere inspired by his love of swans. Mesmerized by their beauty and grace, he is equally fascinated by their fierce, territorial nature. Set to an original score and featuring the soaring voices of South Africa’s Zolani Youth Choir, the work explores the tension between beauty and danger, attraction and fear. Natasha Adorlee, Emmy Award-winning choreographer, filmmaker, and composer, returns following her acclaimed 2024 BalletX hit Got Soul, praised by The Philadelphia Inquirer as “uplifting and vibrant,” with an electrifying world premiere that showcases her bold, genre-defying style. Phoebe Jewitt was selected from over 120 applicants as this season’s Choreographic Fellow. A former dancer with TanzLuzern, her new work is set in a world built from the objects of everyday life, exploring impermanence, resilience, and the enduring human capacity to adapt and connect. The BalletX Choreographic Fellowship is generously supported by the Wyncote Foundation, at the recommendation of David Haas.
