Noelle Kayser returns after her remarkable Scales on the Wings of a Butterfly (2025) with a haunting premiere inspired by the work of Gabriel García Márquez, meditating on legacy, mortality, and how we honor those who came before us. Featuring an original score by Julia Kent and scenic design by Scott Penner. Le Wang, one of today’s most exciting international choreographers, makes his BalletX debut with a breathtaking new work inspired by whalefall, when a whale’s body descends to the ocean floor and gives rise to an entirely new ecosystem, exploring transformation, renewal, and the extraordinary life that can emerge from loss. Gregory Dawson‘s Sojourner returns in a vibrant celebration of jazz. Featuring an original score performed live by Luke Carlos O’Reilly and his band, this richly textured work transforms dancers into instruments in a thrilling exploration of rhythm, collaboration, and expressive freedom.
