Looking for a fun way to stay active and learn new moves? Grab your comfortable shoes and hit the dance floor! Line dancing is the ultimate combination of mental focus, coordination, and aerobic exercise. Designed for absolute beginners and those looking to brush up on classic steps, this high-energy class will have you line dancing to a fun mix of crowd-pleasing favorites, both classic and new. You’ll learn foundational footwork such as the grapevine, step-touch, weave, and pivot turns, while building memory, rhythm, and stamina through easy-to-follow group routines. This class is open to all movers. No experience necessary, and all are welcome! Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. This event is for ages 12+. Join our email list and follow us on social media to see where we’ll be next. About Instructor Alaya Freeman Alaya Freeman is a Philadelphia-based dancer, instructor, and award-winning choreographer. Her training began at the Sydney School of Dance, where she immersed herself in disciplines like ballet and tap. Furthering her dance education at The Pointe Dance Studio, she became a member of its distinguished company, “Straight To The Pointe Dance Company.” There she competed regionally, exploring other genres of dance such as jazz, modern, African, pointe, and hip-hop. She later attended West Chester University, where she served as captain of the hip-hop dance ensemble D.R.E.A.M. Team and earned a minor in Dance Studies. An educator since 2020, Alaya has created choreography that earns top accolades at notable regional competitions, including Dancers Incorporated and Beyond the Stars. Honored with awards such as “Ultimate Storytelling,” she continues to inspire dancers of all ages and levels as an instructor at Second Chance Dance.
