Modupe Onilu ~ Percussion Kareem Thompson ~ Steel Pan Etsuko Tajima ~ Piano Emmet Sher ~ Guitar Adriel Vincent Brownl ~ Drums Noah Smit ~ Bass Hailing from the vibrant twin-island nation of Trinidad and Tobago, MODUPE ONILU is a musician, percussionist, and cultural innovator whose artistry bridges ancestral rhythms with contemporary expression. He is the son of the legendary drum innovator and organic percussion master Jajah Oga Onilu, and has continued his family's legacy by redefining the soundscape of Caribbean percussion. Modupe’s music — rooted in African traditions yet boldly experimental — combines Afro-Caribbean rhythms, spoken word, jazz, electronic textures, and ritualistic soundscapes, aiming to channel music as a tool of healing, storytelling, and cultural reclamation. Onliu has collaborated with a wide range of local and international artists, and leads educational and spiritual music workshops across the Caribbean and diaspora.
