Barton College Performing Arts and Honest Pint Theatre Company present ‘The Shark is Broken’

Barton College Performing Arts, in partnership with Honest Pint Theatre Company, presents Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon’s The Shark Is Broken, a sharp, funny, and unexpectedly moving comedy set behind the scenes of the troubled filming of Jaws. This actor-driven production blends wit, tension, and heart as it explores clashing egos, mechanical disasters, and the strange alchemy of creating art under pressure. The Shark Is Broken finds Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, and Roy Scheider waiting aboard a boat while the film’s mechanical shark repeatedly fails. With no one yet realizing they are making cinematic history, the three actors argue, drink, reflect, and stumble toward an unlikely fellowship amid the chaos.
