Step back in time and raise a glass at Heritage Happy Hour on Thursday, January 15th for an evening of history, conversation, and complimentary craft beer and wine in a truly one-of-a-kind setting! Join us at Iron Gate Studios in the Kyle Building for a relaxed, come-and-go happy hour where the past meets the present. Mingle with fellow history lovers, explore the space, and learn more about what Iron Gate Studios offers. Iron Gate features a collective of artists and services, including a variety of tattooing, personal training, photography, hair stylist, permanent jewelry, and more. The Kyle Building stands in the former site of the Kyle Opera House. Built in 1933, the building provides an example of early Art Deco and is made from black glazed terracotta, beige limestone, and aluminum decorative work. Hear from Beaumont Heritage Society’s Collection Manager, Jayden Franke, on the history of the Opera House and the building that now stands. You can even stop and get tattooed! Tattoo artists Matthew Mahon and Kelly Cantrell have designed a special flash sheet featuring historical references to Beaumont. Designs will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis and will be repeatable (flash sheet is at the end of the page). Each piece starts at $80 for an outline, with an additional $20 for shading/color. Whether you’re a local history enthusiast or just looking for a unique way to unwind, this is the perfect chance to experience a piece of the past while making new connections.
