About this event

Let’s gather and talk about this collection of Great Lakes maps and its tapestry of stories stretching across five centuries. The first 75 people will receive a free copy of Canot du Nord! Register today, spots are limited: “Willy Stern’s richly researched and beautifully curated historical Canot du Nord is both a literal and figurative walk through the evolution of the Great Lakes region. Spanning from the 16th century to the early 20th, this compelling volume invites readers to trace the changing contours of Canada, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan, and surrounding lands through the eyes of early cartographers. With the keen insight of a seasoned journalist and the heart of a teacher, Stern brings history to life—charting not just maps, but the stories, struggles, and ambitions that shaped the region we call home.” Kristen Haux, Board Treasurer, Douglas County Historical Society
