About this event
One of 3 upcoming events at Bend Yoga Center, and 562 across Bend.
Join Heather Furtney for a nourishing 90-minute practice designed to release tension in the hips and guide you into deep relaxation through Yoga Nidra. We’ll begin with 50 minutes of mindful hip-opening movement, exploring the hip joint through its full range of motion. The hips are one of the body’s largest and most complex joints, supporting us in nearly every step we take. They also tend to hold onto physical stress from sitting, repetitive movement, and daily life. As we gently create mobility, stability, and space, you may notice not only greater ease in your body, but also a sense of mental clarity and emotional release. Once the body has softened and opened, we’ll transition into a 40-minute Yoga Nidra practice, often called “yogic sleep.” This guided meditation invites you into the peaceful space between wakefulness and sleep, where profound rest and restoration can occur. There is nothing to do except get comfortable in savasana, close your eyes, and listen. Through simple awareness and guided relaxation, Yoga Nidra offers an opportunity to quiet the mind, calm the nervous system, and leave feeling refreshed, grounded, and deeply restored. Class will be held around 80 degrees. Bring a mat. We have bolsters, blankets and blocks to use to make a comfortable nest for the meditation portion of class. Investment: $25 (BYC Karma Students $15)
