Birds of the Prairie Pop-Up

The Big Prairie at Bernheim provides essential resources to the surrounding ecosystem. Many of the birds that live in and around the Big Prairie have special adaptations, allowing them to thrive in this endangered habitat. Join us for a hands-on discovery and demonstration of those adaptations. You’ll also be invited to explore the Big Prairie and other trails to birds using the Merlin app to document the birds you encounter. Plus, learn about the diets of different birds on a fun, food source scavenger hunt. This fun, family-friendly program will take place at the entrance to the Big Prairie near the Hubbuch Holly Collection on the Forest Giants Trail. FREE, registration is not required.
