Outdoors Workshops Arts & Culture

Join artist Christina Clifford as she leads participants in a two-Saturday workshop on making paper by hand and turning it into a nature journal or sketchbook! The first Saturday, April 4, will focus on creating the journal’s cover, guiding participants through the papermaking process from crafting pulp to pulling sheets by hand and embellishing them with natural objects. Using collected leaves, flowers, stones, and organic textures, participants will emboss and shape their covers from scratch—bringing their creative vision to life while deepening their connection to the environment. The second Saturday, April 11, will center on assembling the journal, as participants stitch their handmade paper cover and insert together using a classic pamphlet stitch technique. The workshop concludes with time to draw or journal outdoors, putting each finished piece into practice. No experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity and a love for nature! About the Instructor Christina Clifford is a printmaker and bookmaker, specializing in wood engraving, and a visual arts educator with over 20 years of experience. She is a member of the internationally esteemed Wood Engravers’ Network. Bernheim members $90; Non-members $110 This program has been canceled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
