She started studying piano at the age at 5 and grew up between Turin and Udine. At the age of 12 she studied with renowned concert pianist Maria Golia and obtained a degree in Music history at the Conservatory of Music in Torino, Italy. After taking part to a series of piano competitions and concerts all over Italy such as Stresa, Albenga, Pinerolo, Bobbio, Udine etc. and winning several first prizes, she took a performing hiatus and refined her teaching skills. Ten years ago, in 2015, she moved to New York City and has worked as a Music teacher at La Scuola d’Italia, a bilingual Italian-American school located on the Upper East Side and collaborated with many chamber ensembles and opera singers. She loves exposing herself to New Music and working with young living composers. In May 2024, she took part to a concert dedicated to the music of French living composer David Chaillou and in March 2025 she collaborated with American composer and soprano singer Stephanie Susberich who presented her song cycle based on the poetry of cuban Juana Borrero. In the meantime, she has refined her studies in Piano, Music theory and Composition, obtaining a Music degree from Hunter College in June 2024, while taking part to several Masterclasses and Workshops, including an intensive week in Composition at the Juilliard School in June 2023. Because of her international identity, Brenda is presenting two distinct but nevertheless interconnected piano programs which aim at promoting American and Italian composers both in Europe and the United States; her goal is to popularize less known musicians such as Anna Bon, Teresa Procaccini, William Grant Still, Florence Price, Tania Leon (winner of the 2021 Pulitzer Price in Music and Kennedy Center Honoree) and many more, including her own piano compositions.
