Doors at 6:30 p.m., Reading at 7 p.m. Featured Poet: Felicia Zamora Open mic prompt: Write a poem that incorporates elements of the nanoscene—at least one moment of external dialogue, one tangible object, and two characters. Read a poem or short piece that is 317 words maximum, and challenge yourself to share new work! About the Featured Poet: Felicia Zamora is a poet, educator, and editor currently living in Ohio. She is the author of eight books of poetry: Murmuration Archives (Noemi Press, 2026), Interstitial Archaeology (University of Wisconsin Press, 2025), Quotient (Tinderbox Editions, 2022), I Always Carry My Bones (University of Iowa Press, 2021), Body of Render (Red Hen Press 2020), Instrument of Gaps (Slope Editions 2018), & in Open, Marvel (Parlor Press 2018), and Of Form & Gather (University of Notre Dame Press, 2017). Her books of poetry have won many prizes, and her poems and essays have been published widely in literary journals. Felicia won the 2022 Loraine Williams Poetry Prize from The Georgia Review, a 2024 and 2022 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award, the 2020 C.P. Cavafy Prize from Poetry International, the Wabash Prize for Poetry, and the Tomaž Šalamun Prize. She has been poetry faculty for Orion’s Environmental Workshops at the Omega Institute, the Sewanee Writers Conference, and The Kenyon Review Residential Workshops and online workshops. Felicia is an associate professor of poetry at the University of Cincinnati, a poetry editor for Colorado Review, and a contributing editor for West Branch. _ NIGHTJAR creates an inclusive space for all by bringing together spoken-word performers and page-based poets writing in narrative, lyric, and experimental forms. Every third Wednesday, C.S. Carrier and Michelle Niemann host a reading and invite audience members to share their own poetic responses.
