BUY TICKETS HERE Welcome to the inaugural Miccosukee Indigenous Film Festival! A four-day celebration of incredible filmmaking and celebration of Indigenous culture. The Miccosukee Indigenous Film Festival strives to foster the creativity of Indigenous cinema and expression while welcoming audiences to learn, listen, and celebrate indigenous cultures together. Here is the lineup of short films for the 3 PM Block on Sunday, October 11th: “Reservation Redemption”: A powerful story of Chief Marchand Rice, a man who journeyed from a life sentence for murder to becoming a voice of hope, healing, and transformation. “Errol Kinistino: Inspiration and Activism in the Arts”: Erroll Kinistino’s life and work are deeply rooted in the land, stories, and traditions of Southeast Saskatchewan. “Raised by the Canoe”: The Terry Lee Canoe Club, from Sts’ailes First Nation (Chehalis) , began decades ago as a family-based crew in “Raised by the Canoe.” “South to Freedom”: In “South to Freeedom,” Florida, under Spanish rule, was both a sanctuary for those escaping slavery, and a threat to the Southeast’s slavery-based economy.
