Celebrate the season and the spirit of community at BCRI’s Kwanzaa Family Workshop! This vibrant, hands-on experience invites individuals and families of all backgrounds to explore the principles and traditions of Kwanzaa. Date: Saturday, December 20, 2025 Time: 10:00am – 12:00pm Location: Woolfolk Gallery During this interactive workshop, guests will engage with the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa (Nguzo Saba) through storytelling, music, creative activities, and cultural expression. Participants will learn the symbolism behind the Kinara, create meaningful crafts to take home, and join a community conversation about how Kwanzaa’s values continue to inspire unity and pride today. Visitors can also stop by our Kwanzaa Gift Store Pop-Up in the Rotunda, featuring materials to build your own Kwanzaa display—candles, kinaras, mkekas—and copies of Seven Spools of Thread: A Kwanzaa Story. This program is free and open to the public. Regular museum admission rates apply for entry into the Institute. Join us as we honor tradition, celebrate culture, and uplift the community!
