About this event
One of 1,766 upcoming events at Birthplace of Country Music.
Join us Tuesday, October 27-Saturday, October 31 for the VA250 Mobile Museum Experience titled “Out of Many, One,” hosted by the City of Bristol, Virginia, and the Birthplace of Country Music Museum. Date: Tuesday, October 27-Saturday, October 31 Time: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Location: Cumberland Square Park parking lot (across the street from the Birthplace of Country Music Museum) Cost: Free and open to the public Bookings: Reserve a school tour slot by emailing [email protected]. A hands-on, interactive, and immersive “museum on wheels,” the VA250 Mobile Museum Experience is housed in an expandable tractor trailer that is traveling throughout Virginia and beyond, in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the nation’s founding. The mobile museum brings key stories of Virginia’s rich history to schools, museums, local events, fairs, and more, highlighting every region of the state. Since its launch in January 2025, the two mobile museum units have brought history to over 60,000 visitors. While it is in Bristol, “Out of Many, One” will be free and open to school groups and the public. Teachers can book a student tour Tuesday-Friday on the dates/times below (these will be marked BOOKED once a slot is taken), and drop-in visitors are invited to visit whenever there are no school group bookings and all day on Saturday, October 31 during the Birthplace of Country Music Museum’s annual Community Day, which includes free admission and family-friendly activities to the museum! A tour of “Out of Many, One” is a 30-minute experience. An optimum visit has 25 students per gallery (with adult/teacher chaperones) for a total of 50 students maximum; larger groups can be divided as needed. Teachers can also add a FREE guided tour of the Birthplace of Country Music Museum’s special exhibits Give Me Liberty: Virginia and the Forging of a Nation and We the People (also a 30-minute experience) to your visit to the Mobile Museum. These exhibits are a wonderful companion to the Mobile Museum, giving students the chance to learn about Virginia and Tennessee’s role in the American Revolution and how immigration has shaped our country. If you would like to also book a tour of the museum’s permanent exhibits, our usual student group admission applies. SCHOOL TOUR BOOKINGS Several time slots are available for school group visits, and schools can book multiple/consecutive time slots if needed. For further information about a Mobile Museum experience for your students and to book a tour, please contact Tobias Gosfield at [email protected], providing the following information: Date of tour, preferred time of tour, name of school, teacher’s name, grade level, and size of group.
