A church trained soprano out of small town Wisconsin, she can rasp her way through a gritty shuffle or hush the room with a ballad, channeling influences from Susan Tedeschi to Tina Turner. Behind her play Bay Area lifers whose résumés run from Billy Joel's touring sound crew to stages shared with Tommy Castro, Joe Louis Walker, Robert Cray, and John Lee Hooker.
