Coker Dance and Black Creek Arts Counsel Present A Workshop by Li Chiao-Ping Dance Laughing Bodies, Dancing Minds (LBDM) is an educational program, especially geared at older adults. LBDM focuses on a student-centered experiential learning approach to help each person recover, uncover, and discover knowledge about themselves, others, and the world surrounding them. *All workshop attendees will receive a complimentary ticket to the performance of Dirty Laundry on Thursday AUGUST 27, 7:00PM at Watson Theater. ABOUT DIRTY LAUNDRY A WORK THAT INVESTIGATES THE HISTORY OF ASIAN LABOR, SYSTEMIC RACISM, AND GENERATIONAL TRAUMA THROUGH A BALANCE OF EXPRESSIVE CHOREOGRAPHY, VISUAL IMAGERY, SPOKEN WORD, TEXT, AND SOUNDSCAPES, "DIRTY LAUNDRY" TELLS THE UNTOLD STORIES OF STRUGGLE AND SURVIVAL THAT CHARACTERIZED THE ASIAN EXPERIENCE IN AMERICA-THE INSTITUTIONALIZED VIOLENCE AND THE TREATMENT OF ASIANS AS PERPETUAL FOREIGNERS.
