3-Day Portrait Workshop with Artist Marc Chatov / “Painting a Portrait in Oil” Wednesday, April 29 – Friday, May 1, 2026 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM The students will work from a live model during this 3-day workshop. The workshop will be centered on painting a portrait alla prima which is a wet into wet application, generally in one sitting. Chatov’s workshop environments are casual, encouraging, and informative. “I find nothing quite so alluring as a well painted face.” Working alla prima gives a spontaneous and immediate approach to the life painting experience. Drawing skills are essential, but the experience of working alla prima from a model is beneficial for all levels of ability. Marc will give a demonstration one morning followed by individual instruction.
