About this event
One of 27 upcoming events at Boston Lyric Opera, and 3,505 across Greater Boston.
Boston Conservatory at Berklee and Boston Lyric Opera are thrilled to welcome soprano Ailyn Pérez to lead a masterclass with local students and rising artists from Boston Conservatory at Berklee, New England Conservatory, Boston University, Longy School of Music, Boston Singers' Resource, and Boston Lyric Opera's Jane & Steven Akin Emerging Artists as part of the Opera Innovators Series. Ailyn Pérez’s 2026/27 season is packed with signature roles and several debuts. She kicks off the season with Verdi’s Requiem with the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra at Lincoln Center. Next, she makes a long-awaited house debut at Theatro Municipal de São Paulo as Elisabetta in Don Carlo. Later in the fall, Ms. Pérez makes her role and house debut at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut, in a new production by Oliver Mears. Later in the season, she returns to Houston Grand Opera in Aida, then performs as Marguerite in Faust at the Bayerische Staatsoper. April brings her back to The Metropolitan Opera as Desdemona in Otello, which will be broadcast live as part of the series The Met: Live in HD. She returns to The Met later in the spring for their star-studded 60th Anniversary Gala, before taking on Tosca in concert with the Minnesota Orchestra. In June, she joins Boston Lyric Opera for a staged version of Golijov’s genre-defying Ayre, returning to the company for the first time since her 2007 performance as Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro. Ms. Pérez wraps up her season with an electrifying new role at Santa Fe Opera: Janáček’s Kátya Kabanová. Ailyn Pérez stars in Ayre as part of the Boston Lyric Opera 2026/27 season. Ailyn Pérez is presented as part of Boston Conservatory at Berklee’s Opera Innovators Series in partnership with Boston Lyric Opera. This event is open to all; RSVP required – stay tuned for more details.
