Saturday, Oct. 17 Note: This program takes place at two nearby venues on Main Street: Art Exhibit & Opening Reception 4:00 – 6:00 pm – BACA Gallery – 1004 Main Street, Branford, CT This is an exhibit of original new works by BACA Gallery artists painted in the iconic style of Gustav Klimt. Immediately follows the screening of a film about his life and career at the Blackstone Memorial Library. Free Preceding Related Event: Movie: “Woman In Gold”, 2015, 109 minutes. A SAG Award nominated film starring Helen Mirren. 2:00 – 4:00 pm – James Blackstone Library – 758 Main Street, Branford Synopsis: Maria Altmann (played by Helen Mirren), an elderly Jewish refugee, teams up with a young lawyer to reclaim Gustav Klimt’s portrait of her aunt—stolen by the Nazis and held by Austria for decades.
